Wouldn't it be GRAND to HOPE to pick a FLOWER on FIGUEROA?

Charles, you could get lost in the place.

David, that describes it perfectly.

Richard, it is claimed to have the 3rd largest collection of books in a single US public library, which may include all the 40-50 branches. Over the years, I've been able to find 9 out of 10 books I'm looking for.

Richard, the LAPL has a pretty tenacious grasp on a book-reading ethos that actively serves the public. Despite budget cuts and a revolution in technology it seems to continue to thrive.Ron Scheerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15357501069513854664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-29111873477913576992011-09-16T18:26:46.369-07:002011-09-16T18:26:46.369-07:00I treasure these photos. I had an urge to move there, upon seeing them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-58373130445346390362011-09-16T16:29:55.482-07:002011-09-16T16:29:55.482-07:00Beautiful! (Obviously, yes?)

Naturally, I'm jealous.

Our library is currently enamored with those flimsy cellophane covers on all the new hardbacks --the kind that crack and break and get sort of sticky-smudgy, forcing me straight to the book store.Richard Proschhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08314680709014254183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-43609776273491989792011-09-16T14:08:41.582-07:002011-09-16T14:08:41.582-07:00That's very impressive, Ron. My wife works in a library branch that's smaller than my house, which is none too big.Charles Gramlichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02052592247572253641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-6163943327440757102011-09-16T05:50:59.142-07:002011-09-16T05:50:59.142-07:00Thanks for sharing, Ron.
