I like hybrids and the (usually) fresh perspective they bring to a particular genre.<br /><br />Kind of Blue! The best Jazz album ever. There is a YouTube clip of Miles performing "So What" with Coltrane. I posted the video about a year ago and it is arguably the greatest moment in Jazz ever filmed.
