RIVER OF NO RETURN, from the theme song, was also the title of the biography of Tennessee Ernie Ford's marriage, written by their oldest son. Richard L. Mitchum is almost always good and he probably spurred her on. I have seen it but not in years. Need to watch this and Niagara again soon. pattinase (abbott)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02916037185235335846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-38574897009611774352013-01-01T10:13:11.384-08:002013-01-01T10:13:11.384-08:00The only Marilyn Monroe movie I've watched all...The only Marilyn Monroe movie I've watched all the way through is Niagara. Eschewing easy jokes about the big screen being necessary to fully display Monroe, I think I agree with Walker about this performance by her...and with you that she's more than game, and Mitchum acquits himself well...and they're a good pair (not a joke, either) (the silent version of NEVADA is in this week's mix). Then I saw it again recently when it was on TV. I liked the movie but I had a problem with Marilyn Monroe's part. I felt that she was excellent in movies like SOME LIKE IT HOT, THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH, and even a modern day western like THE MISFITS. But I didn't think this was a role for her talents.Walker Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16089880902426182100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-2774357616795818922013-01-01T06:19:32.504-08:002013-01-01T06:19:32.504-08:00Even at 12, I was taken with Marylin Monroe's ...Even at 12, I was taken with Marylin Monroe's beauty and she was dead by then! Nice review. I have been meaning to watch Bus Stop, which part was filmed at the North Fork Store in Idaho (north of Ketchum) where I spent a few summers running a camp.sagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17499891950639742366noreply@blogger.com
