Before I left for the states I contacted a Western hat Maker, "Last best Western", and gave my order. A 50% Beaver Quigley hat. It arrived at the Ranch as did I, that hat? Its "some bad hat!" I wear it, I cherish it, and I love it. I tell you this, because I have long admired the film, and the actor. I believe Steve McQueen was originally sort for this film, but unfortunately he passed before he could make it. The whole film as you say centers around the Sharps. But also it displays Quigley`s outfit, The Cavalry shirt, neckerchief, chaps and boots. But mostly? That Hat. cheyenne joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16957462106844413179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-1182245253144856532013-10-30T04:01:46.427-07:002013-10-30T04:01:46.427-07:00I agree, the title was odd and unappealing and lik...I agree, the title was odd and unappealing and likely cost the film greater box office success. But it was filled with great scenes and a whole range of emotion and, all in all, highly entertaining. When I lived in Big Timber, Montana, my neighbor owned the Shiloh Sharps factory, and I got a chance to see the manufacture of what some believed were the finest rifles in the world, two of which were employed by Selleck in the film. He came to Big Timber to learn how to use them. Last I knew, the company had a two- year backlog.
