Many scholars begin with feeling marginalized, so they tend to focus on that in what they read. <br /><br />Oscar, when someone throws a new light on a subject, I don't care how they do it. I've been looking at the papers presented at WLA conferences for years, and have found them to be only marginally connected with the West.
