I am very curious about that, because these films have values and ideals that are mostly alien to the students. I've often wondered how young people would respond to Stagecoach, one of my favorites, but one that rises from a different world.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-4729341404393701242010-12-24T05:57:04.130-08:002010-12-24T05:57:04.130-08:00I'd go Fort Apache, The Searchers, 3:10 To Yum...I'd go Fort Apache, The Searchers, 3:10 To Yuma, Lonesome Dove, Hombre, Joe Kidd, The Scalphunters, Wyatt Earp, and Four Faces of the West. No one voted for WYATT EARP, TRIBUTE TO A BAD MAN, and SCALPHUNTERS. So they're probably no-gos.

Leah, RIVER OF NO RETURN was shot in CinemaScope and last I looked, it was available in full letterbox at netflix. Robert Duvall recently was asked what was his favorite role and he said LONESOME DOVE because the series gave him 6 hours to develop the character instead of the usual hour and a half. The two James movies just cannot compare with LONESOME DOVE, the mini series. Also the novel is in the running for best western novel ever.Walker Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16089880902426182100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-75211429601562802982010-12-22T14:07:51.728-08:002010-12-22T14:07:51.728-08:00I agree with Bill Crider and throw in an old one a...I agree with Bill Crider and throw in an old one as a substitute, say Destry Rides Again with James Stewart.Oscar Casehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10328166606910469945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434602314756730550.post-10133060186898447022010-12-22T12:33:52.219-08:002010-12-22T12:33:52.219-08:00Fort Apache
