I've read only one book by the man: <i>The Hidden Places</i> (1922), also set amongst the old growth forests of British Columbia (with a few scenes in a very young Vancouver). It's a dark and disturbing novel, in part for its depiction of Canadian attitudes toward injured veterans of the Great War .<br /><br />Just as relevant today, I think.
