I've already got a copy of his first novel to read next.<br /><br />James, she was apparently a force to contend with. A granddaughter has a remembrance of her online, and I think she expected the family to call her "Bower."<br /><br />Laurie, I found pics of those 2 covers online. I can't say more about them than that. I was reading a U of Nebraska Press reprint. <br /><br />The UCLA library has at least two copies of the 1906 edition, and the LAPL has one, but it's at the Central Library and for Reference only. Don't know how easy it is to see a Reference-only book there, though I've been wanting to try.
