Charles, I looked at some clips when I put this together, and I don't think Eastwood's BRONCO BILLY has much if anything to do with Broncho Billy Anderson.
Cheyenne, Anderson pretty much disappeared and was briefly "rediscovered" in the 1960s before he died at the Motion Picture Country Home here in Woodland Hills, California.
Jon Tuska is a fine, reliable source for material of this sort. He has several titles devoted to western movies, short stories, and novels, all worth reading.
I wonder how close the CLint Eastwood movie was to this. It wasn't one of my favorites of his films.
