Saturday music: Sons of the Pioneers
How many western groups could yodel in close harmony? This video, "Way Out There," was filmed in 1937, when Leonard Slye was about to go solo as Roy Rogers.
The Sons of the Pioneers are one of my absolute favorite things to listen to. Their harmony was really something special. This is the best version of "Way Out There" I've heard—it's too bad it doesn't include all the verses.
