Snapped this shot on the way to work a couple months ago. In front of the car ahead is a truck with a double wagonload of oranges on their way from the orchard to your grocery store. Location: Riverside, California.
Coming up: Old West glossary, no. 33
Never seen a truck full of oranges before. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove the sight of big hauls like that. Must be the Farmer still in me even after all these years.
ReplyDeleteOn I-10, I'm often seeing trucks with huge loads of hay bales headed west. I understand they are being delivered to dairies.
DeleteRon, are those telephones lines running through little white "bulbs" evenly spaced? Or are they power lines? I didn't expect to see them in 21st-century America. We still have those in villages and towns in India but not in urban conglomerates where phone and power lines run under ground. The giant transmission towers still loom over the city.
ReplyDeleteCould be power lines. They are still common here.
Deleteyou know, if you follow that orange truck real close, you just might get freshly squeezed OJ!
ReplyDeleteHope he gets a good price for 'em.
ReplyDeleteI will never get over the wonder of a palm tree. Luckily in January I will see them again.
ReplyDeleteSend that truck Maine way, Ron.
