I've just been listening to the theme song from the 1970s musical adaptation of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which Charley Pride sang, "The River Song" (written by the Sherman Brothers and orchestrated by John Williams, no less). It's a beautiful song—I'm surprised it's not better known.
