Saturday music: Eddy Arnold
Eddy Arnold's signature song, "Cattle Call," from a 1956 telecast. Originally written and recorded in 1934 by American songwriter and musician Ted Owens.
You can't go wrong with Eddy Arnold. You put a lump in my throat with this one, Ron. Arnold was a favorite of my folks so I've been listening to "Cattle Call" and others all my life. He didn't need pyro or whirling lights or to soar across the stage on a wire --- he could simply stand and sing as strong and pure as anyone who ever gave voice to a melody ... The duet with Leann Rimes that follows the original clip you have featured is absolutely lovely. Thanks for the memories.
