"Buddies in the Saddle" is an old cowboy song about life on the open range. This blog
is about how everyday life on the open plains and frontier small towns has been
represented in books, films, song, pulp magazines, comics, radio, and TV.

Photo-finish Friday: out and about
Finally found a horse that will stand still for me while I take a pic. This one is outside the front door of Ballard's Saddle Tack and Western Wear near Palm Springs, California.
Photo-finish Friday is the bright idea of Leah Utas over at The Goat's Lunch Pail.

You find the coolest things.
ReplyDeleteYou should try the video game Red Dead Redemption. You'd get to ride and rope all kinds of horses. :)
ReplyDeleteI look forward weekly to what you will come up with for a photo finish. I like this one.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you'll have to worry about being bucked off either, unless S. California experiences another earthquake :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely photograph! I've never seen a horse pose on a skateboard before. He is standing on one, isn't he?!
ReplyDeleteThis picture reminds me how much I miss saddle tack and western wear stores. Seems like they used to be all over the place around here, but now? Not so much. Was in Texas last week and didn't see any there either.
ReplyDeleteA nice lookin' horse! Skateboarding....HAHAHAHAHA thats a good one, Prashant.
