Saturday music, Marty Robbins

Martin David Robinson, born 1925 near Phoenix, Arizona, one of ten children, took up the guitar while in the Navy during WWII. "El Paso," released in 1959, won the Grammy for Best Country and Western Recording in 1961.

Coming up: John Williams, Butcher's Crossing (1960)

  1. One of my favorites. It always brings a tear to my eye.

  2. I played this on a cassette until I wore it out. I love this one, and regard it as a masterpiece.

  3. A whole story in a song, they dont write them like that anymore.

  4. What's that one guy holding, a bridle? Who's it for, Felina?

I absolutely love this song and Marty Robbins!
