Coming up: Ted Kooser, Lights on a Ground of Darkness
"Buddies in the Saddle" is an old cowboy song about life on the open range. This blog
is about how everyday life on the open plains and frontier small towns has been
represented in books, films, song, pulp magazines, comics, radio, and TV.
Will Penny is probably my favorite off that list. True grit was good.
ReplyDeleteThe Man from Laramie was a fine one.
ReplyDeleteI've seen all these westerns except for MEEK'S CUTOFF. They all are good and if I had to give one my top vote it would be THE MAN FROM LARAMIE. If you want to see a spellbinding performance by Burt Lancaster, watch VALDEZ IS COMING.
ReplyDeleteA great list and yep I've seem em all. I prefer the original True Grit over the Cohen version though, but as I say there's not a bad movie on that list.
